Ahmed will discuss the role Latin America plays in Dubai’s flagship Free Zone – and his vision for the future of business relations between the two regions.

Ahmed Bin Sulayem is Executive Chairman of DMCC (Dubai Multi Commodities Centre), which has helped establish Dubai as a major international hub for commodities trade and enterprise, including delivering the World’s leading Free Zone, one of the world’s leading physical gold markets and one of the top three global hubs for the diamond trade.

Ahmed’s knowledge of commodities and the diamond trade in particular, led to his appointment in 2016 as global Kimberley Process Chair on behalf of the UAE’s Ministry of Economy, culminating in a speech on the draft resolution of “The Role of Diamonds in Fuelling Conflict” at the United Nations General Assembly in February 2017.
