H.E. Isabel De Saint Malo De Alvarado

Isabel de Saint Malo de Alvarado has over 20 years’ experience in the development and implementation of public policy in Latin America. Following her election as Panama’s Vice President and her appointment as foreign minister, she became the first woman to hold both positions in the history of her country. As Vice President she presides over the Social Cabinet, supports the National Council for Development and promotes education, health and gender equality. Ms Saint Malo was previously part of Panama’s mission to the United Nations in New York, and worked for 15 years with the United Nations Development Programme in Panama. She has degrees in international relations and in business administration.
